Standing at America’s easternmost point, West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec, Maine, has guided mariners since 1808. Its distinctive red and white candy-striped tower—one of few in the United States—makes it instantly recognizable against the rugged Atlantic coastline.

While the lighthouse remains an active aid to navigation, the tower itself is not open to climbing. However, visitors can explore the surrounding West Quoddy Head State Park, which offers dramatic cliff trails and opportunities to spot whales and seabirds.
