South Buffalo North Side Light

Standing on the shores of Dunkirk, New York, the South Buffalo North Side Light has guided Lake Erie mariners since its construction in 1903. This historic beacon served as a critical navigational aid along one of the Great Lakes’ busiest shipping corridors. Now decommissioned, the lighthouse is no longer active and is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb the tower. Still, it remains a compelling subject for photographers — golden hour and dramatic winter lake-effect skies produce striking images.
