Standing at the end of Buffalo’s north breakwater since 1903, this historic lighthouse guided vessels safely into Buffalo Harbor on Lake Erie for decades. Now decommissioned, the light is a striking remnant of Buffalo’s maritime heritage and its once-thriving role as a Great Lakes shipping hub.

The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it remains a favorite subject for photographers. The best shots come during golden hour from the outer harbor or shoreline, especially with dramatic Lake Erie sunsets as a backdrop.
