Standing guard over Round Island Channel in Michigan, this active lighthouse was built in 1947 to guide vessels through the narrow strait between Round Island and Mackinac Island. The steel-and-concrete structure replaced an earlier light station, serving as a critical navigational aid in the busy Straits of Mackinac shipping lanes.

The lighthouse is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb the tower. However, it makes a striking photography subject from the water, particularly during golden hour in summer and early fall when light reflects off the channel. Ferry rides between Mackinac Island and the mainland offer excellent vantage points.
