Standing watch over Croatan Sound in North Carolina, Roanoke Marshes Light has guided mariners since 1831. The lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, but its waterfront setting on the Manteo boardwalk makes it one of the most photographed landmarks on the Outer Banks.
