Rising from the waters off Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Ram Island Ledge Light has guided mariners since 1905. This granite lighthouse was constructed to mark the dangerous Ram Island Ledge, which had claimed numerous vessels in Casco Bay.

The light remains an active aid to navigation, its beacon still warning ships away from the treacherous shoal. The lighthouse is not open to the public, as it sits offshore with no visitor access.
