Point Betsie Light stands on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in Lake Township, Benzie County, marking the south entrance to the Manitou Passage since 1854. One of Michigan’s most photographed lighthouses, its white tower and attached keeper’s dwelling sit directly on the beach, offering dramatic backdrops against crashing waves and sunsets.

The lighthouse remains an active navigational aid operated by the U.S. Coast Guard. While the tower is not open for climbing, visitors can walk the beach and explore the grounds. Late summer and fall provide the best photography conditions, with vivid sunsets and occasional storm-driven waves.
