Little Sable Point Light
Lake Michigan · Michigan
Rising from the sandy shores of Lake Michigan in Golden Township, Oceana County, this striking brick lighthouse has guided mariners since 1874. The tower stands as one of Michigan’s most photogenic lights, its dark red brick contrasting beautifully against white sand dunes and blue water. Unlike many Great Lakes lighthouses, Little Sable Point remains an active navigational aid.
The lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, but visitors can walk the beach to its base via Silver Lake State Park trails. Golden hour provides the best photography, particularly at sunset when the tower is backlit against the lake.
Nearby, explore Silver Lake Sand Dunes, the Mac Wood’s Dune Rides, and the charming village of Pentwater.
