Hilo Range Front Light
Hawaii
Located along the scenic Hilo Bayfront on Hawaii’s Big Island, the Hilo Range Front Light served as a navigational aid for vessels entering Hilo Harbor. Paired with a rear range light, the two beacons helped mariners align their approach through the harbor channel. Though no longer active, the compact tower remains a quiet coastal landmark. The light is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it’s easily viewed from the bayfront area. Early morning offers the best photography, with Mauna Kea as a dramatic backdrop. Nearby attractions include Liliuokalani Park and Gardens, Coconut Island, and the historic Hilo Farmers Market, all within walking distance.
