Hanamanioa Point Light
Perched on Maui’s rugged southeastern coast, Hanamanioa Point Light has guided mariners through the waters off Hana since 1918. Built during a period of expanding maritime navigation aids across Hawaii, this modest concrete tower remains an active aid to navigation maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. The lighthouse is not open to the public and sits on restricted land, so visitors cannot climb it. However, it can be viewed and photographed from nearby vantage points along the Hana coast. Golden hour offers the best light, with dramatic contrasts against the volcanic shoreline. Nearby attractions include Wai’anapanapa State Park, the black sand beach at Pa’iloa, and the scenic Road to Hana.
