Built in 1854, the East Pascagoula River Light guided vessels through the marshy channels of Mississippi’s Pascagoula River. This screwpile lighthouse served as a critical navigational aid along the Gulf Coast for decades before being decommissioned. Though no longer active, the structure remains a compelling piece of maritime heritage in the Pascagoula area.

The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it can be viewed from the water. Golden hour provides the best photography conditions, with warm light reflecting off the surrounding wetlands. Nearby attractions include the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, Pascagoula River Audubon Center, and the beaches of Gulf Islands National Seashore.
