Standing on Florida’s St. Joseph Peninsula, this historic lighthouse was first built in 1839 to guide vessels through the Gulf waters near Port St. Joe. After being damaged and rebuilt over the decades, the tower remains an active navigational aid today. Its location on the narrow peninsula, flanked by the bay and Gulf of Mexico, makes it a striking landmark against coastal landscapes.

The lighthouse is not open to the public for climbing, but photographers can capture excellent exterior shots, especially during golden hour when warm light reflects off the surrounding waters. The best conditions are typically in fall and spring.
