Standing at the edge of Chesapeake Bay in Edgemere, Maryland, this historic lighthouse has guided mariners since 1875. Built as part of a range light system, it helped vessels navigate the treacherous Craighill Channel leading into Baltimore Harbor. The caisson-style structure sits directly in the water, making it one of the Bay’s most distinctive aids to navigation.

The light remains active under U.S. Coast Guard operation and is not open to the public. Visitors cannot climb the tower, though it can be viewed and photographed from the shore or by boat.
