Ludlam’s Beach Light

New Jersey

About this place

Ludlam’s Beach Light stands in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, a historic lighthouse built in 1885 to guide vessels along the Jersey Shore. Though it served mariners for decades, the light was eventually deactivated and is no longer an active aid to navigation. The tower is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb it, but it remains a compelling sight from the surrounding streets.

The lighthouse is notable as one of the few surviving Victorian-era towers on the Jersey coast. Golden hour and early morning offer the best photography light, with the tower framed against coastal skies. Nearby, visitors can enjoy Sea Isle City’s beaches, the boardwalk promenade, and fresh seafood at local waterfront restaurants.
