Eastern Point Light
Cape Ann · Massachusetts
Perched at the entrance to Gloucester Harbor, Eastern Point Light has guided mariners along Massachusetts’ rocky North Shore since 1890. This classic white cylindrical tower replaced an earlier wooden structure and remains an active aid to navigation today.
The lighthouse sits on private property within a gated community, so visitors cannot access the grounds or climb the tower. However, photographers capture stunning shots from the breakwater at the end of Eastern Point Boulevard, particularly during golden hour or when dramatic nor’easter waves crash against the rocks.
While in Gloucester, explore the charming downtown, visit the famous Fisherman’s Memorial statue, or take a whale-watching excursion. The nearby Hammond Castle Museum offers another photogenic coastal attraction worth visiting.
