Hospital Point Range Front Light

Hospital Point Range Front Light

Massachusetts

Standing sentinel over Beverly Harbor since 1872, Hospital Point Range Front Light marks the entrance channel to this historic Massachusetts port. The lighthouse earned its name from a smallpox hospital that once occupied the point during colonial times.

This active navigational aid works in tandem with its rear range light to guide vessels safely into harbor. Its white cylindrical tower and attached keeper’s house create a classic New England lighthouse silhouette.

While the grounds are not open to public access, photographers can capture excellent shots from nearby beaches and public roads. Golden hour provides the best lighting conditions.

Visitors can explore nearby attractions including Lynch Park, Independence Park, and the charming downtown Beverly waterfront district.
