Manhattan Rear Range Light(aka: Manhattan Range Lights)

Built in 1895 along the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio, the Manhattan Rear Range Light served as part of a paired range light system guiding vessels safely through the river channel into Lake Erie. The skeletal iron tower, still an active navigational aid maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard, stands as one of Toledo’s lesser-known maritime landmarks.

The light is not open to the public and cannot be climbed. Photographers find the best results during golden hour, when warm light contrasts against the industrial riverscape. Nearby attractions include the National Museum of the Great Lakes, Toledo’s Warehouse District, and Maumee Bay State Park, making it a worthwhile stop on any Great Lakes lighthouse tour.
