Kokole Light
Pacific Ocean · Hawaii
Kokole Light is a historic lighthouse located along the sunny southern coast of Kauai near Poipu. Though no longer active, the light once guided vessels navigating the rocky shoreline. The modest tower stands as a quiet reminder of Hawaii’s maritime heritage in an area now better known for resort beaches than seafaring.
The lighthouse is not open to the public, so visitors can only view it from a distance. Golden hour before sunset offers the best photography conditions, with the Pacific Ocean as a dramatic backdrop.
Nearby attractions include Poipu Beach, Spouting Horn blowhole, the National Tropical Botanical Garden, and excellent snorkeling at Koloa Landing. The surrounding coastline is also a prime spot for Hawaiian monk seal sightings.
