Hanapepe Light
Perched on the rocky shoreline near Hanapepe Bay on Kauai’s south coast, Hanapepe Light has guided mariners along this stretch of Hawaiian waters since the early twentieth century. The modest concrete tower replaced earlier navigation aids that served the once-bustling port town of Hanapepe, a key shipping hub for the island’s sugar industry. Though no longer active and closed to the public, the lighthouse remains a photogenic landmark. Shoot during golden hour when warm light illuminates the tower against dramatic Pacific skies. The nearby Hanapepe town — known as “Kauai’s Biggest Little Town” — offers art galleries, a famous swinging bridge, and Friday night art walks. Salt Pond Beach Park sits just minutes away.
