Unity Forest State Scenic Corridor

Unity Forest State Scenic Corridor

Oregon (Eastern Oregon County)

Unity Forest State Scenic Corridor is a protected natural area along a stretch of highway in eastern Oregon. Located in the Blue Mountains region, this scenic corridor preserves a beautiful stand of mixed conifer forest that travelers pass through on their journey between the Willamette Valley and points east.

The corridor features towering ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and grand fir trees that create a canopy over the roadway, offering a peaceful forested drive through Oregon’s interior landscape. The surrounding terrain includes rolling hills and mountain slopes characteristic of the Blue Mountains ecosystem.

As a state scenic corridor, the area is managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to maintain the visual quality and natural character of the roadside environment. While there are no developed recreational facilities within the corridor itself, the preserved forest provides a welcome contrast to the more open rangeland that dominates much of eastern Oregon. Travelers can enjoy the scenic drive and appreciate the old-growth character of the forest stand that has been protected from development.
