East Fork State Park
Ohio (Clermont County)
East Fork State Park sprawls across 7,030 acres in Clermont County, Ohio, making it one of the largest state parks in the system. Anchored by the 2,160-acre William H. Harsha Lake, the park draws visitors year-round for fishing, boating, swimming, and miles of trails that wind through rolling hills and mature hardwood forests.
The park’s backbone is its trail network — over 80 miles of multi-use paths that accommodate hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. The Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter Trail loops the entire lake and rewards patient hikers with ridgeline views, creek crossings, and quiet stretches far from the main activity areas. Anglers will find the lake well-stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, and saugeye, with several boat ramps and a marina providing easy water access.
A large public beach opens each summer, offering one of the better swimming spots in southwest Ohio — a genuine draw for families within an hour’s drive of Cincinnati. Hunting is permitted in designated areas during season, covering deer, turkey, and small game.
The campground offers hundreds of sites ranging from full-hookup RV pads to primitive tent spots and rent-a-camps for those who want to try camping without the gear investment. Reservations are recommended for summer weekends.
Spring wildflower season and fall foliage are the park’s most photogenic windows, but summer is peak season for water activities. Winter visitors will find solitude, frozen lake views, and surprisingly good trail conditions for cold-weather hiking.
