Tucked along the banks of the Rio Grande in Albuquerque’s North Valley, Rio Grande Nature Center State Park offers a surprisingly wild escape just minutes from the city. The park’s centerpiece is a glass-walled visitor center built partially underground, giving visitors eye-level views of a three-acre pond where ducks, geese, herons, and sandhill cranes gather depending on the season.
