The beach features a sandy stretch perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and wading in the surf. The water here is classic New England — bracing in early summer and warming to tolerable by late July and August. Jenness is a day-use beach with no camping on-site. Facilities are basic — a small parking lot, restrooms, and a lifeguard station staffed during peak summer months. The limited parking fills early on hot weekends, so arrive before 10 a.m. in July and August or visit on weekdays for a more relaxed experience.

The best time to visit runs from late June through early September, when water temperatures and lifeguard coverage align. Shoulder-season visits in May or October reward you with empty sand, dramatic skies, and migrating shorebirds along the coast.
