Musgrove Mill State Historic Site preserves one of the most significant Revolutionary War battlefields in the South Carolina backcountry. Spread across 380 acres where Laurens, Spartanburg, and Union counties meet, the site marks where Patriot militia forces achieved a surprising victory over Loyalist troops on August 19, 1780 — a morale-boosting win during one of the war’s darkest periods for the American cause.

The Enoree River anchors the landscape, winding through the property and offering some of the best shoreline fishing in the Upstate region.
