Straddling the border between Dickinson and Menominee Counties in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Menominee River State Recreation Area protects nearly 2,900 acres of wild riverfront landscape along the Menominee River. This is not a manicured park with paved paths and visitor centers — it’s a rugged, undeveloped stretch of forest, wetlands, and river corridor that rewards those willing to explore on its own terms.

The Menominee River itself is the main draw.
