Laurel Caverns State Park sits atop Chestnut Ridge in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, protecting the largest cave system in the state. Designated as a state park in 2025, this underground wonder offers visitors something genuinely different from the typical Pennsylvania park experience — a chance to explore a limestone cavern that stretches more than three miles beneath the Laurel Highlands.

The cave itself is the main draw. Above ground, the park’s location on Chestnut Ridge provides forested trails and sweeping views of the surrounding highlands.
