Perched on Mark Island in Maine’s Frenchman Bay, Winter Harbor Light has guided mariners since 1856. This classic white conical tower, though modest in stature, stands as a picturesque sentinel against the rugged Downeast coastline. The lighthouse was decommissioned and is no longer active, now serving as a private residence.

Visiting: The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed. However, it’s beautifully visible from boat tours departing Winter Harbor and from various points along the Schoodic Peninsula.
