Sabine Bank Light

Rising from the waters near Port Arthur, Texas, Sabine Bank Light was constructed in 1906 to guide vessels through the treacherous Sabine Bank passage along the Gulf Coast. This offshore screwpile lighthouse served mariners for decades before being deactivated. Its distinctive skeletal iron structure makes it a striking example of early 20th-century Gulf Coast maritime engineering.

The lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, as it sits offshore and is accessible only by boat. Golden hour provides the best photography conditions, with warm light reflecting off the Gulf waters. Nearby attractions include the Museum of the Gulf Coast, Sea Rim State Park, and the Sabine Pass Battleground State Historic Site.
