Point Wilson Light

Point Wilson Light

Puget Sound · Washington

Standing guard at the entrance to Admiralty Inlet since 1879, Point Wilson Light is one of Washington’s most iconic beacons. Located at the northeastern tip of Port Townsend’s Fort Worden State Park, this active lighthouse guides vessels navigating the treacherous convergence of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound.

While the tower is closed to the public, visitors can walk the beach and grounds for excellent exterior views. Golden hour and stormy skies produce the most dramatic photographs. The surrounding Fort Worden State Park offers military bunkers, trails, and the Port Townsend Marine Science Center. Historic downtown Port Townsend, with its Victorian architecture, galleries, and waterfront dining, sits just minutes away.
