Lehua Rock Light stands on Lehua, a small crescent-shaped volcanic islet off the northern coast of Niihau, Hawaii. This decommissioned navigational light once guided vessels through the treacherous waters of the Kaulakahi Channel. Now inactive, the light sits atop one of Hawaii’s most remote and ecologically significant landforms — Lehua is a protected seabird sanctuary home to wedge-tailed shearwaters, red-footed boobies, and other native species.

The rock is not open to the public, and access is strictly restricted to protect wildlife. Photography is best captured from boat tours during golden hour, with dramatic cliff faces rising from the Pacific. Nearby attractions include the privately owned island of Niihau and the rugged Na Pali Coast of Kauai.
