Kauiki Head Light
Hawaii
Kauiki Head Light stands on the dramatic volcanic cinder cone of Kauiki Head in Hana, Maui, where it has guided mariners since 1914. Perched on one of Hawaii’s most historically significant headlands — the site of ancient Hawaiian battles — this small, active beacon marks the entrance to Hana Bay. The light is not open to the public, and the rugged terrain makes access to the tower itself restricted. Photographers will find the best light during golden hour, when the cinder cone glows deep red against the Pacific. Nearby, visitors can explore Hana Bay Beach Park, the striking Red Sand Beach (Kaihalulu), and the lush trails leading to Wai’anapanapa State Park just minutes north.
