Standing sentinel at the entrance to New Haven Harbor since 1805, Five Mile Point Light is one of Connecticut’s oldest lighthouses. This historic octagonal stone tower guided mariners for over a century before being deactivated, though it remains an active aid to navigation today.

The lighthouse is notably one of the few surviving early 19th-century towers in New England, featuring distinctive brownstone construction. While the tower is not open to public climbing, visitors can admire it from Lighthouse Point Park, which offers excellent vantage points.
