Built in 1926, Aloha Tower served as Honolulu’s harbor lighthouse and was once the tallest structure in Hawaii. For decades, it greeted arriving passengers with its iconic “ALOHA” inscription on all four sides, becoming a beloved symbol of welcome to the islands. The ten-story tower features a distinctive Art Deco design and sits at Pier 9 in Honolulu Harbor.

The tower is currently not open to public climbing. Located within the Aloha Tower Marketplace area, visitors can still admire its architecture from ground level. Golden hour and sunset offer the best photography lighting against the harbor backdrop. Nearby attractions include the Hawaii Maritime Center, downtown Honolulu’s historic district, and the waterfront shops and restaurants along the pier.
