Tucked into the rolling hills of Fulton County near Astoria, Anderson Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area spans 2,247 acres of prime Illinois bottomland along the Illinois River valley. Anderson Lake itself is a shallow backwater lake that draws massive flocks of migrating waterfowl each fall and spring, making it a premier destination for duck hunting and birdwatching along the Mississippi Flyway.
