Drinks Canyon Camping Area

Utah

Drinks Canyon Camping Area sits along the Colorado River corridor near Moab, offering 17 individual campsites with striking views of the surrounding canyon walls. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, this first-come, first-served campground provides a more rustic alternative to developed campgrounds in the area while still offering basic amenities including vault toilets.

The camping area features four walk-in sites for those seeking a quieter experience away from vehicles. Each standard site accommodates up to 10 people and two vehicles. Three separate entrances access the campground, with the payment station located at the middle entrance.

Visitors can enjoy riverside picnicking and use the area as a base for exploring the greater Moab region. Note that swimming in the Colorado River is not recommended due to dangerous undercurrents—life jackets are essential for any water activity.

Spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures for camping, as summer months bring intense desert heat. No water is available on-site, so pack accordingly. The location provides convenient access to Moab’s mountain biking trails, Arches National Park, and other public lands throughout the region.
