Fivemile Pass Recreation Area
Utah
Fivemile Pass Recreation Area offers easy access to rugged terrain less than an hour southwest of Salt Lake City, making it one of the most popular BLM-managed OHV destinations along the Wasatch Front. The area features an extensive network of dirt roads and trails suited for ATVs, motorcycles, UTVs, and dirt bikes, with terrain ranging from open flats to rocky hillsides.
Dispersed camping is permitted throughout the recreation area at no cost, drawing crowds on holiday weekends and throughout the riding season. A large parking area accommodates day users, while those staying overnight can set up camp along the many access roads branching into the backcountry. Five pit toilet restrooms are scattered across the site, though no potable water is available—pack in everything you need.
The area also accommodates mountain biking and horseback riding on designated routes. Spring and fall provide the most comfortable conditions, as summer temperatures climb quickly on the exposed terrain. Come prepared for dust, minimal shade, and self-sufficient camping in a landscape built for motorized adventure.
