Perched on the southern tip of Green’s Island near Vinalhaven, Maine, Heron Neck Light has guided mariners through Penobscot Bay since 1854. This classic New England lighthouse features a white cylindrical tower attached to a keeper’s dwelling, creating the quintessential coastal silhouette.

The light remains active today, operated by the U.S. Coast Guard. While the station is not open to the public and visitors cannot climb the tower, the lighthouse is beautifully visible from the water. Charter a boat from Vinalhaven for optimal views.
