Kahala Point Light
Hawaii
Rising along the exclusive Kahala coastline of Oahu, this modest navigational light once guided vessels through the waters off Diamond Head’s eastern shore. Though small in stature compared to Hawaii’s more prominent lighthouses, Kahala Point Light served as a vital aid to navigation for decades before being decommissioned.
The light is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it makes a striking photographic subject during golden hour, with Diamond Head as a dramatic backdrop. Early morning offers the best light and fewest crowds.
Nearby, visitors can explore Kahala Beach, the upscale Kahala Resort, and the trails of Diamond Head State Monument, one of Oahu’s most iconic landmarks.
