Honolulu Harbor Entrance Light

Standing at the mouth of Honolulu Harbor, this historic lighthouse has guided vessels into one of the Pacific’s busiest ports since the early 20th century. The light marked the critical channel entrance for commercial and military ships serving Oahu. Now decommissioned, the tower is no longer active and is closed to public access, though it remains a striking navigational landmark visible from the waterfront.

Photographers find golden hour and sunset particularly rewarding, with Diamond Head and passing ships providing dramatic backdrops. The harbor area sits near several notable attractions, including the Aloha Tower Marketplace, the Hawaii Maritime Center, and historic downtown Honolulu. Pearl Harbor and its memorials are a short drive west along the coast.
