Tucked into the rugged backcountry of Coös County, Jericho Mountain State Park sprawls across 7,430 acres of northern New Hampshire wilderness — making it one of the largest parks in the state system. The park is best known as a premier destination for off-highway recreational vehicles (OHRVs), with over 60 miles of trails winding through dense boreal forest, along ridgelines, and past remote ponds that feel miles from civilization.

But Jericho Mountain isn’t just for ATVs and dirt bikes. The trail network doubles as excellent terrain for mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling once winter sets in. Several trails lead to scenic overlooks with views of the Presidential Range and the vast North Country landscape. Poole Pond, near the park’s center, offers a quiet spot for fishing and paddling, with brook trout drawing anglers throughout the warmer months.

The park operates a campground with sites designed to accommodate both traditional campers and OHRV riders, allowing direct trail access from your site — a setup that’s hard to find elsewhere in New England. Facilities are basic but functional, fitting the park’s backcountry character.

Visit between late May and October for the fullest trail access, though fall foliage season in late September transforms the hardwood sections into a showcase of color. Winter brings reliable snow coverage and connects riders to the broader state snowmobile corridor system.
