Scott Self Light — Rockwall, Texas

Completed in 2008, the Scott Self Light stands on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, Texas — one of the few inland lighthouses in the state. Named in honor of a local community figure, this active navigational aid guides boaters across the lake’s open waters. Its clean, modern design distinguishes it from traditional coastal towers.

The light is not open to public climbing, but it can be viewed and photographed from the surrounding lakefront areas. Golden hour and sunset provide the best photography conditions, with the light set against the water and wide Texas sky.

Nearby attractions include the Rockwall Harbor district, local waterfront dining, and the scenic Lake Ray Hubbard trail system.
