Established in 1965, the Milolii Point Light stands along the remote southern coast of Hawaii’s Big Island near the small fishing village of Milolii. This active navigational aid guides vessels through the waters off South Kona, one of the island’s least developed stretches of coastline. The modest automated tower requires no keeper and is not open to public access or climbing.

Photographers will find the best light during golden hour, when the coastal lava rock glows against the Pacific. The nearby village of Milolii, known as the last traditional Hawaiian fishing village, offers a glimpse into old Hawaii. Visitors can also explore Milolii Beach Park and the scenic coastal trails leading toward Captain Cook.
