Built in 1896 in Brazoria County, Texas, the Brazos River Light served as a vital navigational aid for vessels entering the Brazos River from the Gulf of Mexico. This historic iron tower guided maritime traffic through one of Texas’s most important commercial waterways during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Now deactivated, the lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, though it remains a compelling subject for photography enthusiasts. Golden hour and overcast days offer the best lighting conditions for capturing its weathered silhouette.
