Standing since 1853 in Port Isabel, Texas, this historic lighthouse served as a critical navigational aid along the Lower Laguna Madre. It played a strategic role during the Civil War, when Confederate and Union forces alternately controlled the structure. The lighthouse was decommissioned and is no longer active, though it remains one of the few surviving Texas lighthouses from the pre-Civil War era.

The lighthouse is currently not open to the public for climbing. Photographers will find the best light during golden hour, when the warm coastal glow highlights the tower against South Texas skies.
