Standing sentinel over the Mississippi River Delta since 1823, Frank’s Island Light is one of Louisiana’s oldest surviving lighthouse structures. Built to guide vessels navigating the treacherous river passes, the tower has endured hurricanes, erosion, and decades of neglect, yet remains an active aid to navigation today.

What makes it notable is its remote, hauntingly beautiful delta setting — accessible only by boat. The lighthouse is not open to the public, so visitors cannot climb the tower.
