Standard Wash OHV Area
Arizona
Standard Wash OHV Area offers unrestricted off-highway vehicle access in the Arizona desert near Lake Havasu City. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, this area serves as a primary gateway to the Lake Havasu Travel Management Trail System, connecting riders to an extensive network of designated routes through rugged Sonoran terrain.
The landscape features sandy washes, rocky hills, and open desert suitable for ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and 4×4 vehicles. All vehicles must be street legal or display valid Arizona OHV decals. The trail system accommodates varying skill levels, from beginners navigating easier wash routes to experienced riders tackling technical rocky sections.
Dispersed camping is permitted throughout BLM lands surrounding the OHV area, allowing riders to set up camp near their favorite trails. No developed campgrounds or facilities exist on-site, so visitors should arrive self-sufficient with water, fuel, and supplies. Lake Havasu City provides the nearest services.
Fall through spring delivers ideal riding conditions with mild temperatures. Summer months bring extreme heat exceeding 110°F, making desert travel dangerous. Early mornings offer the best visibility and cooler temperatures for trail riding.
