Perched on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts, Old Scituate Light has guided mariners since 1811, making it one of New England’s oldest lighthouses. This historic beacon is famous for the “Army of Two” legend—during the War of 1812, lighthouse keeper’s daughters Rebecca and Abigail Bates reportedly scared off British soldiers by playing fife and drum, making the enemy believe troops were approaching.

The granite tower remains an active aid to navigation but is not open to public climbing. Visitors can explore the scenic grounds and photograph the classic white tower against Scituate Harbor.
