Rising from the Atlantic Ocean off Cohasset, Massachusetts, Minot’s Ledge Light stands as one of America’s most dangerous lighthouses to construct. The current granite tower, completed in 1860, replaced an iron-pile structure that collapsed during an 1851 storm, killing two keepers.
