Michigan City West Pierhead Light

A couple of notes on the facts provided:

– Michigan City is in Indiana, not Illinois. I’ll use the correct state.
– Tower height is blank — I’ll omit a specific number.

Here’s the description:

Michigan City West Pierhead Light

Standing at the end of a concrete catwalk extending into Lake Michigan, the Michigan City West Pierhead Light has guided vessels into Trail Creek harbor since 1875. Its distinctive red steel tower and elevated walkway make it one of the most photographed lighthouses on the southern Lake Michigan shore. Now decommissioned, the lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, but it remains a striking landmark visible from Washington Park beach. Sunrise and golden hour offer the best photography conditions, with dramatic lake backdrops. Nearby, visitors can explore Washington Park Zoo, the Michigan City lighthouse museum at the Old Lighthouse, and the Indiana Dunes National Park just minutes west along the shoreline.
