Standing guard over Lake Huron since 1886, the Port Sanilac Light is an active navigational aid located in the charming village of Port Sanilac, Michigan. The octagonal brick tower, painted white, was built to guide vessels along the lake’s western shore during the busy shipping era of the late 19th century.

While the lighthouse is not open to the public and cannot be climbed, it remains a picturesque landmark easily viewed and photographed from the surrounding area. Golden hour and autumn foliage season offer the best photography conditions.

Visitors to Port Sanilac can enjoy the village’s sandy beaches, the Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum, and the scenic Lake Huron shoreline drive along M-25.
